Prosecutors said Christian Sturdivant, 18, of Mint Hill, N.C., was charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
The FBI alleged that Sturdivant was planning to wear a Kevlar vest and use knives and hammers to attack people at a grocery store and fast food restaurant and that items consistent with that plan were found in his home.
