Former House Intelligence Committee chairman and current CEO of TRUTH Social Devin Nunes says he doesn't trust special counsel appointee Robert Hur to look into the handling of classified documents in the possession of President Joe Biden at various locations.

"This guy's got two problems: one is that he was involved in trying to stop the release of the memo back in 2018 that showed the corruption between the dirty cops at the DOJ and the FBI and the Clinton campaign," Nunes said on Wednesday's edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.

"Secondly, he also had to have been involved in getting subpoenas on my lawyers and my investigation when we were in fact investigating the DOJ and the FBI," he continued. "So I've got real problems with this guy."

It was revealed in the 14th edition of the Twitter Files that there were emails showing that lawmakers crafted and pushed a narrative claiming that Russian bots were responsible for bolstering claims in a report on the Trump-Russia investigation by Nunes in 2018.

According to Nunes, Hur's involvement in the Russia collusion hoax should have disqualified him from this assignment at the very least.

"As far as I'm concerned, anyone who's ever been a Russia hoaxer belongs nowhere near the government," he stated.

Nunes went on to say that there were much better qualified lawyers who could investigate Biden better than Hur could.

"You have thousands of DOJ lawyers and thousands of prosecutors across the country many lawyers everywhere that could actually be bipartisan and come in and do this job," he said. "This guy Hur is definitely not one of them."
