Brooklyn councilwoman arrested and charged after allegedly biting NYPD officer at protest: Police
The homeless shelter is reportedly backed by the city council and will house about 150 single men.
Brooklyn councilwoman Susan Zhuang was arrested on Wednesday and charged after allegedly biting a New York City Police Department officer at a protest over a planned male homeless shelter.
Police said she faces charges of second- and third-degree assault, resisting arrest as well as obstruction of governmental administration.
The homeless shelter is reportedly backed by the city council and will house about 150 single men.
“[Under] no way shape or form is it acceptable to assault and/or bite a New York City police officer,” NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said during a news briefing Wednesday.
