Parts of central Virginia lose power due to thunderstorms

A flash flood warning was issued until 3:15 p.m. as a result.

Over 7,000 Dominion Energy customers in multiple areas of central Virginia have had their power knocked out due to thunderstorms on Saturday. 

A large amount of the outages reported are in either Richmond, Henrico or Hanover, according to 6News.

Dominion Energy shows that just before 3:00 p.m., power was out to more than 4,300 homes in Henrico, more than 1,200 in Hanover, and more than 900 in Richmond.

A flash flood warning was issued until 3:15 p.m. as a result. 

One to three inches of rain were predicted, as well as potential flash flooding.
