A vandal defaced Washington's Union Station with Nazi swastikas just one day after the world observed Holocaust Remembrance Day, according to authorities.

Amtrak police told the Hill that they are investigating the vandalism in cooperation with D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department.

The drawings were etched on pillars outside of the station.

New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez in a tweet called the vandalization "sickening."

"[W]e must address the root cause of the anti-Semitism, hatred and bigotry that leads someone to do this in the first place," he argued.
