Former Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee formally announces campaign for Oakland mayor
Lee ran for U.S. Senate in California but lost to the two highest vote-getters, Adam Schiff and Steve Garvey.
Former Congresswoman Barbara Lee formally announced her campaign for Oakland mayor with a video posted on social media on Wednesday.
Lee represented Oakland and Alameda County in the House of Representatives until January 3, 2025.
Lee ran for U.S. Senate in California but lost to the two highest vote-getters, Adam Schiff and Steve Garvey. Schiff, who served with Lee in the House, ultimately won the seat.
