A political action committee for Democratic politician Terry McAuliffe has reportedly raised $1.7 million over the past two months, building speculation that he’ll run again for Virginia governor in 2021.

The PAC, Common Good VA, made an announcement Wednesday that it had raised the money from April 30 to the end of June, according to The Washington Post.

McAuliffe, the Virginia governor from 2014 to 2018, is known for his prolific fundraising, including his efforts for former President Bill Clinton and for the Democratic National Committee, of which he was chairman.

The PAC will use some of the money to help the Democratic Party of Virginia's 2020 campaign efforts.

McAuliffe said the cash haul came from a diverse group of donors including state legislators, several Black Caucus members, large labor unions and big city mayors.
