Virginia county votes to install governing body over local library after backlash from LGBTQ books

A Virginia county voted to install a board of directors to oversee a public library after backlash from offering children's books with LGBTQ characters and content.
The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to install the governing body over Samuels Public Library in Front Royal, Virginia.
The chair of the board, Cheryl Cullers, was the sole vote against the move.
The library is currently controlled by an independent board and the Samuels Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
In June of last year, the board voted to withhold 75% of the library's funding unless it allowed the local government more of an influence over its operations.
