Ten guards, four inmates killed in attack on Mexico prison near border with El Paso
At least 24 inmates escaped and at least 13 people were wounded
Fourteen people were killed in an attack on a Mexico border prison this weekend, with 10 guards among the victims, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. Sunday – injuring as many as 13 others and resulting in at least 24 inmates escaping.
Four inmates were among those killed in the attack, along the Mexico border, near El Paso, Texas, according to the Associated Press.
Mexican soldiers and state police have regained control of the prison. There was no public information Monday about who was behind the attack.
A riot broke out in August at the prison that spilled into the streets of Juarez, killing nearly a dozen people.
