U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a massive migrant group from crossing the southern border after the massive group broke through Mexican lines in an attempt to enter the United States, officials said.

The group, which consisted of at least 1,000 mostly Venezuelan migrants according to media reports, forced through Mexican border officials Sunday afternoon at a port of entry to El Paso, Texas.

U.S. Border Patrol officers stopped the migrants through the use of barriers and barbed wire and by lining up with shields, photos show.  The crowd eventually gave up and retreated back into Mexico.

Normally, migrants are processed by agents at the port of entry.

Many migrants are frustrated with the Biden administration's migrant app called CBP One, Reuters reported

The app was meant to streamline immigration applications, but the migrants say the software is plagued with glitches.

More migrants have entered the United States so far this fiscal year than in any other previous year at this time, data shows.
