Cheney says MTG shouldn't have security clearance after Georgia lawmaker defends alleged leaker

Former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney this week excoriated Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., for defending an alleged leaker of classified intelligence on the Ukraine war, insisting she ought not to have a security clearance.
"Marjorie Taylor Greene makes clear yet again that she cannot be trusted with America’s national security information and should not have a security clearance of any kind," Cheney wrote in response to Greene.
The Georgia Republican insisted on Wednesday that Jack Teixeira, the Massachusetts Air National Guardsman whom authorities detained on suspicion of leaking classified intelligence, had "told the truth" about the conflict and suggested the administration targeted him for his background.
"Jake Teixeira is white, male, [C]hristian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime. And he told the truth about troops being on the ground in Ukraine and a lot more," Greene wrote, misstating his first name. "Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsmen? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?"
Teixeira allegedly posted the materials in a Discord server named Thug Shaker Central. Discord is an online messaging app that caters to gamers. He faces charges under the Espionage Act and has not entered a plea. The 21-year-old's access to such materials has called into question the administration's practices for granting security clearances.
