WATCH: Defense Department releases video of Russia jet spewing fuel on US drone

The Defense Department released declassified footage Thursday of a Russian Su-27 aircraft dumping fuel on a U.S. MQ-9 drone earlier this week over the Black Sea. 

The video, which is less than a minute long, shows the Russian plane approaching the drone and releasing fuel over it, but it does not show what happened before or after the confrontation. 

The drone was downed, but the Kremlin is attempting to recover it.
