Nikki Haley blasts Gabbard as a Russian, Chinese and Iranian 'sympathizer'
“She opposed ending the Iran nuclear deal. She opposed sanctions on Iran. She opposed designating the Iran military as terrorists who say death to America every single day,” Haley said. “She said that Donald Trump turned the U.S. into Saudi Arabia's prostitute. This is going to be the future head of our national intelligence."
Former Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley on Wednesday targeted Director of National Intelligence (DNI) nominee Tulsi Gabbard on her radio show, claiming the department was "no place for a Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer."
Gabbard, who was nominated for the position by President-elect Donald Trump after she became a Republican and endorsed his presidential campaign, has been accused of promoting Russian propaganda and being sympathetic to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Haley, who hosts her own radio show on SiriusXM, blasted the nominee for her previous foreign policy stances and advised Republican senators to oppose the nomination. Haley served as the Ambassador to the United Nations during Trump's first presidency.
“She opposed ending the Iran nuclear deal. She opposed sanctions on Iran. She opposed designating the Iran military as terrorists who say death to America every single day,” Haley said during the show. “She said that Donald Trump turned the U.S. into Saudi Arabia's prostitute. This is going to be the future head of our national intelligence ... [DNI is] not a place for a Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer.”
She added that it was "disgusting" that Gabbard, who served in the Army National Guard for over two decades, met with Assad in 2017 while he was accused of attacking his own people with chemical weapons.
Haley also slammed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination as Health and Human Services Secretary, claiming he was not a "health guy" and had no background in the subject.
"Some of you may think RFK Jr. is cool, some of you may like that he questions what's in our food and what's in our vaccines, but we don't know, when he is given reins to an agency, what decisions he's going to make behind the scenes," she said.
