Senator Marsha Blackburn R-Tenn., called for Jake Sullivan to step down from his position as National Security Advisor, saying he does not serve the American people well.

"I have called for him to be removed as our national security director," Blackburn said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "He does not serve either the American people or the president or this administration well. And he should be removed. You can go back and look at the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal – the JCPOA. This was something that did not serve us well."

The Iran Nuclear Deal, in which Iran would wind down development of nuclear weapons in exchanged for the easing of international sanctions, was created in 2015 and was reversed by the Trump administration.  The Biden administration has been attempting to re-establish it, although those efforts have so far been unsuccessful.

Israel recently ramped up its military strikes in Gaza following the Oct. 7 terrorist attack against the Jewish state by Hamas earlier this month.

There have been thousands of casualties thus far. Iran officials hinted over the weekend that the Hezbollah militia group, an Iranian proxy, is ready to join the fight against Israel, stating that a “huge earthquake” would occur if they joined with Hamas.

Blackburn went on to accuse the Biden administration of being not hard enough on Iran.

"Their appeasement did not work and their soft attitude toward Iran and towards terrorism has not served our nation well," she said. "It hasn't served our allies well. And we have 30 dead Americans."
