Suspects of the Tren de Aragua gang in Colorado were released on a $1,000 bond: report

Two individuals suspected of being members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were released on a $1,000 bond in Aurora, Colorado, authorities say.
Aurora Police arrested Nixon and Dixon Azuaje-Perez in July on charges of evidence tampering related to a shooting.
A spokesperson for the police department told Fox News that the individuals "both posted $1,000 bond."
The bond release goes contrary to the wishes of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which had sought detainers for both men. But since nearby Denver is a sanctuary city, local officials don't cooperate with ICE.
Last year, both Nixon and Dixon were apprehended by Border Patrol agents in Eagle Pass, Texas, for illegally crossing the border. They were given notices to appear and released awaiting their court dates.
Last month, a video went viral of the gang taking over apartment buildings in Aurora. The Aurora Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that the gang leader is currently in custody.
Aurora is Colorado's third largest city and Denver's largest suburb.
