Three U.S. Marines assigned to Gaza pier sustain non-combat injuries
The Gaza pier mission has seen the U.S. erect a floating pier to act as a temporary port through which to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli invasion of the coastal territory.
A trio of U.S. Marines assigned to the Gaza pier mission suffered injuries on Thursday, the Pentagon confirmed.
None of the injuries were the result of combat, though one injury was significant enough to warrant medical evacuation to Israel, The Hill reported.
"Three injuries, two were very minor injuries and those individuals returned to duty. One individual is undergoing care at a local Israeli hospital," said U.S. Central Command Deputy Commander Vice Adm. Brad Cooper.
The individual who was hurt most severely was working on a staging platform off the coast.

Though completed earlier this month, reports this week had suggested that none of the aid delivered to through the pier had yet been distributed. Pentagon spokesman Gen. Patrick Ryder, however, confirmed that some of the aid had been distributed via air drops and land crossings.
