Since President Donald Trump took office, migrant encounters at the southern border have dropped dramatically, according to data obtained by NewsNation's Ali Bradley.
From Jan. 17-19, the Border Patrol encountered 4,000 people, which fell to 1,940 on Jan. 20-21, as Trump took office. Wednesday numbers reached 440 by 8p.m.

Trump himself signed a litany of executive orders upon taking office addressing illegal immigration, including the declaration of a national emergency. He also reinstated the "Remain in Mexico" provision requiring asylum seekers to stay out of the U.S. until their court date.
