Sen. Cruz slams former intelligence officials after DOJ confirmed laptop was Hunter Biden's
"It means Joe Biden lied to the American people,” Cruz said.
Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz slammed former intelligence officials and the Biden family after the Department of Justice confirmed this week that the laptop connected to President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, belonged to him.
Cruz made these remarks during an episode of his podcast "Verdict" that he does with his co-host Ben Ferguson.
“Look, this is a stunning admission. It means Joe Biden lied to the American people,” Cruz said during the podcast, according to The Daily Wire.
“Hunter Biden lied to the American people," he added. "Just about every single elected Democrat in America lied to the American people. Just about every single corporate media outlet that repeated the Democrat talking points lied to the American people.”
In 2020, the New York Post was temporarily banned from X, formerly Twitter, due to its reporting on the laptop belonging to the first son. The article was labeled as "misinformation."
Cruz also went after government officials who said the laptop story had the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.
“They’re willing to lie to the American people,” Cruz said. “And they don’t feel they have any obligation to the truth. I mean, this does enormous damage to the Department of Justice, the FBI, because they knew as a fact, that what Biden was saying, that what was being said public, was a total lie.”
Cruz challenged reporters to question the intelligence officials who signed the letter and to ask them if they are embarrassed or if they will apologize to the American people.
“I don’t think there’ll be a single reporter who will ask them that because the corporate media participated in the lies as well,” he said. “They’re not embarrassed, they’re not ashamed. And they’re certainly not going to ask the liars who participated in what is, you want to talk about election interference? This is blatant election interference.”
