Migrants on buses leaving Texas voluntarily sign a waiver that discloses their destination, Just the News has learned.

"The migrants on Texas’ buses willingly chose to go to Washington, D.C., New York City, or Chicago, having signed a voluntary consent waiver available in multiple languages upon boarding that they agreed on the destination," said Renae Eze, spokesperson for Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.

Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are among the GOP governors who have sent migrants to areas such as Massachussetts’ Martha's Vineyard, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Friday that the White House is deferring to the Justice Department on the decision regarding potential legal action against the governors.

"Basically, we're referring, I was asked a question like this yesterday, to the Department of Justice on any legal actions that might be taken or being looked at, certainly, that is for them to take a look at," Jean-Pierre said.

Fox News reported that the Democrat-run city of El Paso has a busing contract to send migrants outside of the state.

"The state is not involved in El Paso’s busing," Eze said.
