Texas law enforcement disrupted an attempt to smuggle more than 60 illegal migrants across the southern border in a dump truck, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson announced Monday.
The driver was arrested and the migrants were transferred to the custody of U.S. Border Patrol, said agency spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez.

Customs and Border Protection encountered a record of nearly 2.4 million illegal migrants in fiscal year 2022.
Texas has been hit particularly hard with the influx of migrants and Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has responded by sending buses of migrants to liberal-run northern cities such as Chicago.
