The Texas legislature passed the election reform bill by GOP state lawmakers on Tuesday, following a monthslong battle between Republicans and Democrats.

The bill passed along party lines in the state Senate, with just one Republican joining Democrats in the House, according to the Washington Post.

Gov. Greg Abbott said he will sign the bill, which may be in the upcoming days, the Associated Press reported.

The bill is very similar to the one that state Democrats walked out on 93 days ago, when many left the state for Washington, D.C., to avoid voting on it.
