US considering rules to ban or limit the sale of Chinese-made drones

The U.S. is considering banning or limiting the sale of Chinese-made drones amid a rash of mysterious drones seen flying over New Jersey and other states.
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said this consideration was “an essential step in protecting the United States from vulnerabilities posed by foreign entities," according to the New York Post.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued two flight restrictions on the area surrounding President-elect Donald Trump's Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, following questionable drone activity. The drone sightings were first reported on Nov. 18.
Federal officials have claimed they do not know much about the drones, but have assured the public that there has been no threat to the American people as a result of the activity.
The Pentagon also said officials have not found any evidence that a foreign entity is behind it.
“Securing the unmanned aircraft systems technology supply chain is critical to safeguarding our national security,” Raimondo said in a statement.
