Biden, Zelensky to hold a press conference in Italy
This is the same day the two presidents are expected to sign a security agreement.
President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are expected to hold a joint press conference in Italy on Thursday.
The pair are expected to sign a security agreement that could lead to Ukraine's eventual entry into NATO, according to CBS News.
"By signing this we'll also be sending Russia a signal of our resolve," White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told journalists.
He further asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not be able to outlast the coalition supporting Ukraine.
The development comes as Russian forces appear to be on the offensive, with its armies seizing border towns in the Kharkiv region and making modest gains in the Donbass over recent weeks.
