Biden's German shepherd 'Commander' attacked Secret Service at least 10 times, records show

President Joe Biden’s German shepherd, Commander, attacked Secret Service agents at least 10 times in three months, according to Department of Homeland Security records published Tuesday by the conservative watchdog Judicial Watch. 

Between October 2022 and January 2023, Secret Service agents were attacked 10 times, per 194 pages of records obtained by Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

The records do not include any recent incidents, but several attacks resulted in agents requiring medical care and at least one was hospitalized.

The Bidens acquired Commander, a pure-bred German shepherd, in December 2021 after rehoming Major, another German shepherd that was responsible for multiple attacks on Secret Service and White House staff and hundreds of dollars in damages. 

In one notable incident involving Commander, an email exchange shows that in November, the dog bit an agent "two times, one time in the upper right arm and a second bite on the officer’s thigh" and that the White House medical office "treated the officer and made the decision" to transport the victim to the hospital. 

The emails published Tuesday show agents voicing their frustrations with the dog. 

In an email exchange after the agent was sent to the hospital, another officer referred to Commander as "that stupid dog" and wrote, "if it wasn’t [the Biden's] dog he would already have been put down – freaking clown needs a muzzle."

Another officer in December required medical care after Commander's attack left a bit "to the left forearm resulting in bruising and approximately a 1 1/2 cm cut and a bit[e] to the right hand on the thumb resulting [in] a 1 cm cut," the affected agent wrote in an email.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the records "raise fundamental questions" about the Biden administration and that "rather than protect its agents, the Secret Service tried to illegally hide documents about the abuse of its agents and officers by the Biden family."
