Biden: Some U.S. troops might be heading to Eastern Europe in 'near term'
"There's not going to be any American forces moving into Ukraine," Biden says
President Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday that some U.S. troops might be heading to Eastern Europe in the "near term" in response to the escalating situation regarding Russia's actions toward Ukraine.
"I may be moving some of those troops in the near term just because it takes time," Biden said during his unannounced visit to a local boutique in Washington, D.C.
Biden also said a Russian invasion of Ukraine would bring "enormous consequences," adding that "it would be the largest invasion since World War II" and "it would change the world.”
He emphasized that "there's not going to be any American forces moving into Ukraine."
