President Joe Biden is receiving his annual physical exam on Wednesday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and the results are expected to be closely monitored as the 81-year-old commander-in-chief seeks another four-year term in office this fall.

The White House said a written summary of his "routine" checkup will be released later in the day, The Associated Press reported

As the oldest president in U.S. history, Biden would be 86 by the end of a second term if he is reelected in 2024.

After his last physical in 2023, his physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, said Biden was a "healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency." Since that time, however, concerns have been raised about Biden's mental and physical acuity as new polls have shown that most Americans believe he is too old to run for the Oval Office.
