Biden's German Shepherd Commander leaves White House after numerous biting incidents
Commander's departure follows that of Major, the first family's other German shepherd, whom they sent to Delaware to live with friends following biting incidents of his own.
President Joe Biden's German Shepherd Commander is no longer at the White House following a litany of biting incidents, a spokesperson has confirmed.
"Commander is not presently on the White House campus while next steps are evaluated," Jill Biden communications director Elizabeth Alexander told the Associated Press.
"They remain grateful for the patience and support of the U.S. Secret Service and all involved, as they continue to work through solutions," she said of the the president and first lady.
Commander has attacked Secret Service personnel at least 11 times since October of last year. The Bidens received him as a gift from the president's brother James in December 2021. The current location of the dog remains unclear.
