Former President Joe Biden on Monday morning thanked well-wishers for their support, after his office announced a day earlier he has cancer.

"Cancer touches us all," Biden said in a post to X. "Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support."

Biden's office said the former president, 88, has an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Experts say it is Stage 4 cancer, which is incurable.
