President Donald Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin told him in a phone call Wednesday that he must respond to Ukraine's massive drone attack last weekend on airfields.

Trump said he discussed the issue in a roughly 75-minute call in which he also talked to Putin about the United States' effort to reach a nuclear deal with Iran.

We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace.”

“President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields,” Trump also said.
