The University of California, Berkeley says it has given the Trump administration information on 160 faculty members and students, as part of a federal investigation into “alleged incidents of antisemitism.”

The probe and the school providing the information comes amid a broader government crackdown against educational institutions charged with failing to safeguard Jewish students, according to The Times of Israel

The office of the school's president said Friday the institution is subject to oversight by federal and state agencies and that its campuses, like UC Berkeley, “routinely receive document requests in connection with government audits, compliance reviews, or investigations,” the news outlet also reports.
