The letterhead on federal agency's external documents as of Wednesday have the title "Biden-Harris Administration," compared to previous administrations that typically used only the president's last name.

An example is an Education Department press release dated March 24 that reads: 'Biden-Harris Administration to Announce New Actions to Help Schools Reopen Safely and Meet Students’ Needs'

The change follows an email earlier this week, obtained by the website Outspoken, in which a member of the White House communications team appears to tell federal agencies: "Please be sure to reference the current administration as the 'Biden-Harris Administration' in official public communications."

The leaked email also came as the official White House website also refers to the Biden presidency as the Biden-Harris administration.

"Learn more about the people who carry out the priorities of the Biden-Harris Administration," the official White House website reads.

Neither of the last two former presidents typically highlighted the role of the vice president in the way the current administration is attempting to do for Kamala Harris. The specific language directed by officials currently appears on all 15 of the executive departments websites.

All of the official social media accounts for the White House now similarly address Biden and Harris in the administration's description.

"The fact that the White House is instructing federal agencies to replace ‘Biden’ with ‘Biden-Harris’ after less than 60 days is indicative of the struggle Joe Biden is already having being president," said Richard Grenell, former Ambassador to Germany and former acting Director of National Intelligence. "This is a signal that he can’t do the job alone."

Since naming Harris as a running-mate and winning the 2020 election, 78-year-old Biden has made clear that Harris is the future of the administration, even raising speculation that she might be at the top of the 2024 Democratic ticket.
