Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., released parts of the diary of Dr. Anthony Fauci, former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during President Trump’s first term and chief medical adviser to former President Joe Biden. 

The diaries show that Fauci relished the fame he received for advising on the management of the COVID pandemic, including interactions with celebrities, the Daily Wire reported. 

Paul accuses Fauci of revealing 'his love for the newfound fame COVID brought him' and has published a paragraph the senator says is of him 'fangirling' over explaining Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa to Barbra Streisand. 

'She wanted to know if it was okay to get mRNA vaccine. I told her yes,' Fauci wrote of the 'great call."

The Daily Mail reached out to a representative for Fauci for comment on a subpoena. 

The story includes a graphic titled "Tony's Diary," which says the information about Fauci is in part from his "meticulous notes." However, the story appears unclear regarding to what Paul is referring when he says "diary."
