President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening gloated over Florida Democratic Senate candidate Alex Vindman's upset loss to state Sen. Angie Nixon, a member of the Democratic Socialist Party.

"SleazeBag Vindman loses tonight to a Radical Left Lunatic. How cool is that???" Trump posted on Truth Social.

Vindman entered the race ahead in polling, but Nixon won with roughly 56% of the vote, renewing concerns about faulty polls this election cycle.

Vindman – an Iraq War veteran who was a key witness in the 2019 congressional Trump impeachment hearings, also lost despite a huge fundraising advantage – having raised $16.3 million, compared to less than $1 million for Nixon.

Nixon will now face GOP Sen. Ashley Moody in the general election in November.
