Texas mom arrested for allegedly buying ammo for son planning 'mass targeted violence'
Police wrote in an affidavit obtained by CBS News that Pardo "intentionally and knowingly aided" her son after a map was found by staff at Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School.
A Texas mother has been arrested for purchasing tactical gear and ammunition for her son despite allegedly knowing he was plotting a terror attack on a middle school.
The mother, Ashley Pardo, was arrested Monday on a single count of aiding in the commission of terrorism.
Police wrote in an affidavit obtained by CBS News that Pardo "intentionally and knowingly aided" her son after a map connected to his plot was found by staff at Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School, in San Antonio.
In addition, authorities say the student was plotting "mass targeted violence."
The map is being described as a "suicide route" that has a rifle drawn above it. The boy, whose name and age have not been released, told authorities he had a fascination with school shooters.
He was suspended from school in April for researching a massacre from 2019 on a school computer.
The boy's grandmother called authorities Monday and said the 33-year-old Pardo gave her son guns and ammunition.
"It has been expressed to the Defendant the concerns of her child's expression and desire to commit acts of mass violence," the affidavit reads, referencing Pardo. "The Defendant expressed to the school her support of (her son's) violent expressions and drawings and does not feel concerned for his behavior."
