Authorities confirmed Monday afternoon that the body found earlier in the day in a Californian lake was actress Naya Rivera.

Rivera, who was on the TV show "Glee," disappeared July 8 after going out on a boat with her 4-year-old son on Lake Piru.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday on social media that a body had been found. The department did not confirm whether it was Naya but said it would provide details later today at a press conference.

The 33-year-old actress and her son, Josey, went out on the boat on at about 1 p.m. Police received a 911 call about three hours later from a female caller, who told the dispatcher: "Lake Piru. The emergency is we have a missing person. We found a little girl in one of the boats by herself and her mom is nowhere to be found."

The child was mistaken for a girl because of his long hair. He was found sleeping on the boat, after staffers realized Rivera hadn’t returned the boat by 4 p.m., after renting it for three hours.

Former Glee co-stars such as Heather Morris have been tweeting their support and hopes and prayers that she would be found. Morris even tweeted at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department asking to help.

“My name is Heather Morris, I’m Naya's close friend and co-worker, and I’m trying to conduct an on foot search and rescue mission along with a small group of friends at Lake Piru. I understand your team is doing EVERYTHING in their power, but we are feeling helpless, powerless and want to help in any way. I have left a message with the department of Rescue and Air today, and I will call again tomorrow. Thank you.”
