Musk quips Cybertruck bomber chose 'wrong vehicle' as car contained blast
"Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken," Musk posted on X.
Tesla founder Elon Musk quipped that the suspect who detonated a Cybertruck outside the lobby of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day picked the "wrong vehicle" as it largely contained the blast.
"The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken," Musk posted on X.
"Cybertruck is the worst possible choice for a car bomb, as its stainless steel armor will contain the blast better than any other commercial vehicle," he also said.
Multiple outlets have identified Matthew Livelsberger, 37, as the driver of the vehicle. He died in the explosion. Authorities believe he packed the Cybertruck with incendiary materials that he connected to a detonation system.
Law enforcement offered praise for Musk, with Las Vegas Police thanking him for providing them with information related to the vehicle during their investigation.
