New England Patriots player arrested for allegedly bringing two guns in carry-on
Jones, 25, was charged with ten counts related to unlawful weapons and ammunition possession after he was arrested.
New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was arrested at Boston's Logan Airport for allegedly bringing two firearms in his carry-on luggage.
Jones, 25, was charged with ten counts related to unlawful weapons and ammunition possession after he was arrested Friday, according to a Massachusetts State Police report obtained by The Boston Globe.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court this week and his bail was set at $50,000.
"We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today," a Patriots spokesperson said Friday. "We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time."
Jones was drafted last year and participated in a minicamp last week. He injured his knee during his rookie season and ended with a two-game suspension.
The Patriots did not state why Jones was suspended, but the player's agent, Jamal Tooson, said at the time it was related to a "miscommunication regarding Jack’s rehab process."
The Transportation Security Administration tweeted a photo of the weapons that were confiscated Friday with the hashtag "travelfail."
