Patel confirms FBI investigating 'persons of interest' in Nancy Guthrie kidnapping
The case has attracted national attention, largely due to the victim's familial relation to TV personality Savannah Guthrie.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Tuesday evening that the FBI was investigating "persons of interest" in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie.
A person of interest is not necessarily a suspect and includes anyone whom law enforcement may question, monitor, or otherwise seek out for information in a criminal case.
Speaking on Fox News, Patel stated that "there might be persons of interest in and around the area related to this event." He further insisted that the bureau was primarily focused on locating Nancy Guthrie but would otherwise work to bring her kidnappers to justice.
The case has attracted national attention, largely due to the victim's familial relation to TV personality Savannah Guthrie.
