Randolph Mantooth, the actor best known for portraying firefighter-paramedic Johnny Gage on NBC's hit 1970s drama Emergency!, has died at 80 years old, according to reports citing a family member.

Mantooth died Thursday at a hospice facility in Ventura, California.

His brother, Donald Mantooth told media outlets that the actor had struggled with declining health for several years and had become increasingly frail.
