Small business group celebrates American exceptionalism in new video

The Job Creators Network Foundation released a video on American exceptionalism Thursday as a reminder of what makes the United States great and why its system of government must be protected against those who seek to tear it down.

In the video, the small business advocacy organization explains how history is filled with monarchs that left behind amazing monuments as testaments to their civilizations, but that those not in the ruling class suffered from poverty and disease while women were treated as second-class citizens.

"Because so much energy was focused on surviving, innovation took a back seat," the voice-over says. "Society was a pyramid, and those at the bottom toiled for those at the top," which led to stagnant standards of living.

However, when the United States was founded on the principles listed in the Declaration of Independence — everyone created equal with God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — history drastically changed. By focusing on individual freedom, limited government, and free market capitalism, entrepreneurs were able to create inventions and small businesses that "benefited millions," it claims.

"The resulting luxuries for everyone — from blue-collar workers to real estate tycoons — would've been incomprehensible prior to America's founding," the narrator says.

After listing entrepreneurs and innovators such as Walt Disney and George Washington Carver, and inventions like household appliances that allowed women to move beyond traditional gender roles, the video mentions the importance of protecting the American system of government.

"This system, which has pulled billions of people out of poverty worldwide and given historically disadvantaged groups the keys to their own life, needs to be protected," the voice-over adds.

While showing footage of Democratic politicians such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the video mentions how some have claimed that the U.S. was founded on systemic racism and oppression, thought it asserts that the reality is that all Americans of any background have opportunities available to them.

"Efforts to erase our history and the genius of our Founding Fathers threatens the pursuit of happiness that is promised to all Americans, as well as the immigrants who are attracted to our shores," says the narrator.

The video ends with a call to action, "America: what would the world do without her? Let's not find out."

Job Creators Network Foundation President Elaine Parker told Just the News on Thursday, "Over the past several years, some people have been trying to rewrite the history of America — focusing only on the country's blemishes and ignoring the incredible prosperity it's brought to the masses. The U.S. isn't perfect and we're always improving, but it is exceptional and a major upgrade to every society that came before it.

"Through the Job Creators Network Foundation, we are telling this story — educating the public about how the U.S. has harnessed limited government, entrepreneurship, and innovation to build the most prosperous society in history. Now, through education efforts like this video, we are hoping to preserve it for future generations."

On Wednesday, Job Creators Network launched a billboard ad campaign calling on Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom to drill for oil in California, rather than importing it from abroad, as gas prices in the state average $5.76, over a dollar more than the national average.
