Kamala Harris reignites administration’s gas stove controversy with Thanksgiving photo
The Biden administration generated backlash when it tried to ban or restrict gas stoves for environmental and health reasons.
Vice President Kamala Harris wished Americans a happy Thanksgiving with a quaint photo of her with her husband together in the kitchen.
Many Americans were quick to point out the five-burner gas range spotted just behind Second Gentleman Doug Imhoff, one of the many home appliances at the Biden Administration has been cracking down on.

Proposed regulations came from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission—which is concerned with indoor air health — and the Energy Department — looking to restrict gas stoves through energy conservation standards.
The debate over the Biden administration’s proposed regulations caused an uproar at the time and criticism that the administration was out of touch with everyday Americans. After the backlash, the Consumer Product Safety Commission backed away from its proposal.
Though, the debate prompted House Republicans—joined by 29 Democrats—to pass legislation to prohibit the use of federal money to place regulations or restrictions on gas stoves. After this, the debate seemed to burn out.
Yet, VP Harris reignited and inflamed new reactions about gas stoves from her political opponents.
“Wait…that’s a gas stove!” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, posted to X. “The same kind Dems want to BAN you from owning.”
“Gas stoves for me, but not for thee,” a GOP Senate staffer posted, also to X.
