Tom Brady cited for exercising in closed Tampa park
Not even the superstar quarterback can skirt local law during the pandemic
During a press conference on Monday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said the city’s park staff had happened across new Tampa resident Tom Brady, who was working out in a closed city park.
The superstar quarterback, who recently moved to Tampa to play for the Buccaneers after 20 years with the New England Patriots, was cited.
“I’m not one to gossip so you didn’t hear this from me,” began Mayor Castor at the press briefing.
“Our parks are closed down; and so a lot of our parks staff they patrol around just to make sure people aren’t doing contact sports and things like that, and saw an individual working out in one of our downtown parks,” said Castor.
The mayor continued, “she went over to tell him that it was closed and it was Tom Brady … He had been cited.”
