Winner of $1 billion Powerball jackpot has not yet claimed prize in California
Players are advised to check their tickets to see if they won one of the prizes other than the jackpot.
The winner of the $1.08 billion Powerball lottery has yet to claim the jackpot Thursday morning after purchasing the ticket at a Los Angeles convenience store.
Las Palmitas Mini Market sold the winning ticket, the California Lottery said. Nearly $1 million will be given to the convenience store for selling the winning ticket, and store owner Nabor Herrera says he plans on using the money to take his family on vacation, according to CNN.
Three mini-market customers bought quite a few tickets, Herrera said.
The Powerball, which was the third-largest jackpot ever, was 24, while the winning numbers were 7, 13, 10, 24 and 11.
Players are advised to check their tickets to see if they won one of the prizes other than the jackpot.
