Fisher-Price has issued a reminder of a broad recall of its Rock 'n Play baby sleepers after as many as 100 deaths have been reported in connection with the carriers.

The company had first issued a recall in 2019 after nearly three dozen infant deaths had been associated with the sleeper. Infants were reported to have rolled over while sleeping, resulting in suffocation.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission on Monday re-upped the recall reminder, claiming that dozens more infant deaths had been reported since the 2019 recall.

"Since the recall, approximately 70 additional fatalities have been reported," the CPSC said. That number includes "at least 8 fatalities that were reported to have occurred after the initial recall announcement," the agency said.

"Approximately 100 deaths have reportedly occurred while infants were in the products," the agency said.

The commission noted that it is "illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers."
