Devin Nunes says Zuckerberg has a 'get out of jail free card' after participating in censorship
Nunes said that if a Republican tried to do what Zuckerberg did, they would likely be investigated for federal crimes.
Former California Congressman and current Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes says Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is getting a "get out of jail free card" after admitting to working with the federal government to participate in censorship.
"Why wasn't this looked into more by the Department of Justice and the Federal Elections Commission?" Nunes asked on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "So I think what you see Zuckerberg doing there is basically his get out of jail free card."
Zuckerberg admitted earlier this week that the Biden administration "repeatedly pressured" his team for months in 2021 to censor content related to COVID-19, including content from ordinary Americans.
He explained that the Biden administration pressured his team for months in 2021 to censor "certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our team when we didn't agree."
Nunes said that if a Republican tried to do what Zuckerberg did, they would likely be investigated for federal crimes.
He went on to emphasize the importance of Truth Social for free speech.
"That's why Truth Social exists," he said. "I would say millions of our users probably are not allowed onto the other platforms still today."
