Elon Musk says the ADL pressured Twitter to shut down Libs of TikTok account
Libs of TikTok requested that Musk release communications between X and the ADL regarding requested censorship of certain accounts.
Elon Musk said Monday that the Anti-Defamation League pushed X, social media platform formally known as Twitter, to shut down the popular Libs of TikTok account.
"I’m old enough to remember when the ADL smeared Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik, an Orthodox Jewish woman, as anti-LGBTQ," Babylon Bee writer Ashley St. Clair wrote on X.
"ADL has pushed hard for us to shut down accounts like Chaya’s, even though it has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, which is their supposed charter!" Musk responded.
Libs of TikTok is a social media account that reposts left-wing content and reports on questionable things taught to children.
The social media account requested that Musk release communications between X and the ADL regarding requested censorship of certain accounts.
"Dear Elon, Please consider releasing all communications and providing full transparency on the ADL & all other organizations who have pushed to censor certain accounts on Twitter/X," Libs of TikTok wrote. "Sincerely, Thousands of users who have been suspended, throttled, silenced, and shadowbanned."
Musk hinted that he would consider granting that request.
"Great point," he replied. "A giant data dump would clear the air."
