Jordan alleges Biden White House also pressured Google to censor Americans via YouTube
Documents obtained by the House Judiciary Committee allege that the White House specifically worked with YouTube to censor "misinformation" about COVID-19 and the COVID-19 vaccine.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan on Thursday alleged the Biden administration was involved in pressuring Google to censor Americans on the social media platform YouTube.
"Now, here’s the first edition of the YouTube Files," Jordan wrote in a thread on the social media platform, X. "We knew the Biden White House was pushing Facebook and Twitter to censor more. Now we know the White House was repeatedly pressuring Google to censor content on YouTube."
In the thread, Jordan posted screenshots of documents that appear to show the Google and YouTube Government Affairs teams were having “conversations with the White House staff on YouTube’s policies.”
The documents were obtained by the committee and allege that the White House specifically worked with YouTube to censor "misinformation" about COVID-19 and vaccines against the virus.
A hearing on such matters is set to be held Thursday morning on Capitol Hill titled the "Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government," according to Fox Business.
Independent reporters involved in the Twitter Files publication, Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger are set to testify.
"The Committees will continue their critical investigative work to protect Americans' First Amendment rights and put an end to the vast government censorship enterprise," Jordan wrote on X.
