Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, a critic of Texas' redistricting proposal, was grilled on NBC's "Meet the Press" over how his own state's redistricting moves differ from Texas.

Democrats in Texas left the state to prevent passage of a new congressional map that could lead to an additional 5 GOP House seats.

"Despite President Trump winning 44% of the statewide vote in 2024, Republicans hold only three of Illinois' 17 districts," said moderator Kristen Welker.

"What do you say to those who argue it's hypocritical to criticize Texas?" she asked.

In response, Pritzker said Texas is trying to "violate the Voting Rights Act."
