A small four-passenger plane on Thursday crashed into a building near the Fullerton airport in Southern California, killing at least two people and injuring over a dozen more.

The crash occurred after the pilot asked the airport for an emergency landing, which the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) tower said it approved. It is not clear what the emergency landing was for, and an investigation into the crash is underway. It is also not clear whether the person who died was from the plane or building.

Fullerton Fire Department said it received the call just after 2 p.m. local time,  and helped evacuate the building, which caught on fire in the crash, according to the Orange County Register.

The incident injured at least 15 people, nine of whom have been hospitalized, though the extent of their injuries are not known. The other six were treated on the scene. It is also unclear whether any of the injured were on the plane, but the Orange County Register reported that at least one person was on the plane besides the pilot.
