Facebook, Apple no longer ranked on prominent 'Best Place to Work' list

Pioneering tech companies Apple and Meta are no longer ranked among the "best places to work" in the United States, according to an influential tracker list. 

Glassdoor, an employment review company, publishes every year its "100 Best Places To Work" list; 2023's list, however, excluded both Apple and Facebook's parent company after both have placed on the list every year for over a decade. 

Apple has been on the list since the rundown first debuted in 2009; Facebook has been on it since 2011, Bloomberg reported.

The deranking comes after a tumultuous 2022 for Meta in which it laid off thousands of employees and froze hiring ahead of a feared recession. 

Apple, meanwhile, was criticized for demanding that employees return to the office after working from home for months amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
